Introduction to This Book:
There’s a growing need for resources on how to earn money using Blender.
While there are countless tutorials on almost every topic, when it comes to making money, the same few points are repeated:
- Create a demo reel.
- Reach out to potential clients.
- Land a job at a studio.
Most of these ideas are tailored for established software like Maya or 3ds Max, and they often focus solely on freelancing or traditional employment.
Ideas for earning money through selling products or services are rarely discussed.
I began freelancing in 2013. My first online gig came from the paid section of Blender Artists. Without any prior knowledge of freelancing, I took on all kinds of jobs. Along the way, I faced challenges, earned money, and learned valuable lessons.
I don’t consider myself a highly successful artist. The only Lamborghini I can afford is through Blendermarket.
However, over the past eight years, I’ve immersed myself in books about business, freelancing, and marketing. I’ve taken notes and applied these insights to the Blender community.
These notes were scattered across my computer in notepad files and images. Through freelancing, I’ve earned thousands of dollars working with clients worldwide and sold over 100 copies of my Blender products.
If I had to summarize this book in a few words, it would be this:
First, build recognition and trust by creating your own content on social media and YouTube. Content is key—create things people find appealing enough to share.
Once you have a following, clients will reach out to you for freelance work.
The downside of freelancing is that your income is tied to your time. There’s a limit to how much you can earn unless you hire others.
This is where selling products becomes valuable. Sell the tools or assets you frequently use in your freelance work. Selling products isn’t tied to time—you can sell one or ten thousand products in a day, depending on your expertise.
While writing this book, I often questioned whether I was qualified or successful enough to write it.
Even if I’m not, there’s a lack of tutorials, blogs, or books on earning money with Blender. If this book inspires more qualified individuals to create similar resources, I encourage you to explore those instead.
This book is a compilation of my personal notes, organized into a coherent structure.
People often ask, “Where do you see the industry in five years?” I believe the better question is, “What advice would I give my younger self?”
The changes over the past five years may reveal patterns that will continue into the next five.
I’d hand my younger self this book and tell him to stock up on face masks.

In Conclusion:
To be honest, I’m nervous. This is my first e-book, and I’m unsure how it will be received.
As Tim Ferriss once said, “A person’s success in life can usually be measured by the number of uncomfortable conversations he or she is willing to have.”
This is the book I wish I had when I started my journey. I hope it helps you as much as it would have helped me.
Thank you,
Vikrant Jadhav
